* A powerful voice for all children,
* A relevant resource for families and communities, and
* A strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child.
The PTA works in partnership with teachers and staff to make
our school a second home for every child. It serves as a type of forum
where parents, teachers, administrators, and other concerned adults
discuss ways to promote quality education, strive to expand the arts,
encourage community involvement, and work for a healthy environment and
safe neighborhoods. Some of our most popular events include
the Reflections program, Science & Technology Night, Math
Night, International Night, holiday programs, Spring Fair, an
African-American heritage assembly, Teacher Appreciation Week, teacher
luncheons, a silent auction, and a school-wide family picnic. A new
program, the ATS Family Network, will offer families the opportunity to
get together, talk, and learn about important topics and have fun while
doing so.
Communication is important to us. The PTA meets on the first Tuesday of
every month at 6:30 p.m. These meetings are open to all. This website and
our monthly newsletter, the Printed Page, keeps parents informed of
issues and events. The PTA also produces a yearbook and the Page & Pen,
an annual literary magazine of student work.
