Meet Karen Mao Asbra

Hello everyone!

My name is Karen Mao Asbra, and I am the proud momma of Delaney Asbra (alumni, 7th at Gunston) and Finn Asbra (4th grade). I have served as the yearbook chair for the last 2 years and have had the privilege of including as many of your student's into the yearbook as possible. It's been a fun experience, and I am excited to have a partner this year - Ashley Loving! As the yearbook chair, I've been able to meet and work with our amazing ATS staff. One of the most important things I learned the first year is that it takes an absolute village to put that book into production.

The things that I love most about ATS are the community, the commitment to the 6 pillars of Character, and the dedication to strong academics with appropriate and robust support. The families are invested in the school. The immense diversity and the attitude and support of this diverse environment is so special. The teachers and staff are engaged, kind, and really care. The systems are supportive to the students' success. The bar is set high at ATS and ATS works to help the kids reach it. Families ask me about ATS all the time, and these are things that I tell them!
