Regular reading over the summer keeps their vocabulary growing, improves comprehension, and strengthens critical thinking. It also fosters a lifelong love of learning and curiosity, which is key for their academic success. Plus, it sparks creativity and imagination, broadening their understanding of the world. Overall, summer reading is a fun and effective way to keep young minds sharp and ready for new challenges!

We will provide recommendations to ensure every ATS Star completes this summers Reading Challenge by the first day of school.

Make Reading a Regular Habit:

• Read together daily: Even a short period of time, like 20-30 minutes, can make a difference. 

• Set a consistent reading time: Establish a routine, such as before bedtime or after dinner, to make it a regular part of your day.  Read as a family during this time.

• Incorporate reading into daily activities: Read labels at the grocery store, recipes while cooking, or instructions while building.

GRADES 1-5: The ATS PTA is providing you with the opportunity to pre-order school supplies for next year. EPI will be our vendor again this year.

Orders must be placed by July 1st.

RISING KINDERGARTNERS: You don't need to do anything until the fall. We pre-order all Kindergarten supplies. You will pay for them at the Open House the week before school starts, or by sending a check in at the start of the school year. The price will be $50 per kit and scholarships are available for students with financial need. More info on that in August. 

GRADES 1-5:

1--Go to https://www.educationalproducts.com/ShopPacks/ or scan the QR code in the attached flyer

2--Enter the ATS school account number, ATS001, in the search box.

3--Choose the appropriate grade level kit (i.e., your child’s grade NEXT fall).

4--Enter your child's first and last name.

5--Add to cart, confirm your order, and checkout. You do not need to sign in or create an account when checking out, you can enter your email address only.

6--Input billing name and address information.

7--Enter secure payment information.

8--Complete order.

9--Boxes will be delivered to the school around August 20th.

For the entirety of the 2024-2025 school year schools will earn $10 for every HT Plus membership or trial membership sign-up or existing membership. To qualify, customers will need to link their VIC card as well as sign up for a free 30-day trial membership or a paid membership of HT Plus or have an existing account. Once those steps are complete, the system will allocate $10 to their TIE school of choice. If customers are linked to multiple schools, the $10 will be divided equally between the schools. Schools will not earn funds on any in-store purchases for the 2024-2025 school year.

1) Download the Box Tops app

2) Select “Arlington Traditional School” as your school.

3) Shop for Box Tops products (there are hundreds at the grocery store – some of the brands included are Pillsbury, Cheerios, Yoplait, Annie’s, Blue Buffalo and Lysol).

4) Scan your store receipts with the app to find participating products.

The app will automatically credit ATS with our Box Tops earnings from your receipt. Twice a year, ATS will receive a check to buy whatever we need to support our school. Money from Box Tops goes straight into your classrooms, through Grants and Teacher Reimbursements.
